What to do When a Politician uses Talking Points and has no idea what the Hell he’s talking about.

Warning: This posts contains the truth. The problem with truth is that most people don’t really want to hear it. It’s much easier to be spoon-fed crap thinking it’s chocolate ice cream. Read at your own risk, you may develop knowledge: something NO ONE can ever take away.

———–

I’ve been an advocate for lower utility rates going on 3 years now. There seems to be a pattern with ratepayers as well as  politicians. Here’s an example of the political pattern: C.B. Daughtridge (R) is running for the Distirct 3 NC Senate race. Here’s a quote from him in a recent newspaper article:

Along with securing jobs, lowering taxes and less government, Daughtridge said he wants to fix problems many municipalities are having with Electric Cities. With the help of nuclear electrical engineers, Daughtridge said he wants to conduct studies that would pinpoint red areas, eventually sponsoring legislation to relieve towns and residents of high costs.

“Not only are our residential bills 40 percent too high, the rates are detrimental to business in this area,” he said.

First of all, I have no idea what the Hell he’s talking about. Nuclear electrical engineers? Is he is favor of building more nuclear power plants in eastern North Carolina? If so, he’s lost his mind. The cost would be higher now than in the days of Shearon Harris.  Maybe, CB didn’t get the memo, but we’re trying to get out of the 2.6 Billion dollar debt, not trying to add more bonds on top of our payment plan.

What are red areas? I’d love to get an answer to that question. If he’s talking about areas that are the “hardest hit” by these high prices, you (a normal reasonable reader)  would have to agree all of eastern North Carolina  has residents on fixed incomes that have to decide every month do I pay my bills or split my pills.

Last, but not least,  is the total bullshit idea that a Daughtridge revelation of knowledge would sponsor legislation to relieve towns and residents of high costs.

But, here’s the simple fact! Ratepayers are voters and ratepayers need to understand what  (sadly) took me quite a while to realize: If someone out there in “ElectriCities land” had a clear, concise, and logical way to lower our light bills, it would have already been done.

If any citizen or local, State, or Federal politician had a plan that would have worked…it would have already been done. Why? For one thing, human nature: it would be the pat on the back of a lifetime. You’d have the longest 15 minutes of fame in history.

Secondly, if any politician could maneuver that good idea into law it would set’em up for life: common sense tells you that. Who on Earth would not vote for the Lawmaker who lowered our light bill by 40% ?

In a nutshell, you already know what the “buzz” words are folks. Don’t take any politician at face value, dig a little deeper.  Republican or Democrat doesn’t matter: asked ‘em how. How are you going to do what you say you want to do.

I’d rather have a candidate say, “I have no f—ing idea how to get it done, but I promise you I’ll be in their face each and every day until it get’s better.”

——————–

Well, if you hated this post, you’re really going to love the next one. I’ll finally come out and tell the ratepayers what  politicians have known about them for years! It’s the God’s truth, but it isn’t pretty and something you probably won’t want to hear.

  2. So Bro. George has anyone considered what could be in the November election? It could be 2 white male candidates incumbent Senator Clark Jenkins and Daughtridge 2 multi-millionaires vying for a seat that was created to help get a black person elected.

It appears that Bordeaux is a multi-millonaire also so wonder if it was he and Daughtridge in November? But will Democrats jump ship and support the Republican?

If it is Armstrong vs Daughtridge will the Bordeaux campaign rally along with her to beat out Daughtridge in November? I feel that with Armstrong taking the approach that she felt the need to call a press conference talking about dispelling the myth that Bordeaux said she was running to split the vote may work against her.

My question has always been why in the hell would Bordeaux agree to back out of the race when he began campaigning last year making it clear putting up billboards last year? Maybe I am just ignant. LMBAO C. Dancy II – DCN Publisher

    • Daughtridge electricity should come form Edgecombe-Martin so he is not directly affected by ElectriCities. So just because he has a Rocky Mount address he do not need to mislead folks to thinking that he gets his electricity from the City of Rocky Mount.

    • George Fisher says:

What is so funny to me is all the money these guys have put out there to win this election. Right or Wrong–no matter who you support…all are spending lots of money for a seat that pays $14,000/year. Yep, they get paid 14,000 a year to do this.
