Snapshot: Here’s the facts: no one is going to tell Calvin Woodard what to do: not an opponent, not a criminal, not a lawyer representing a criminal and certainly and for damn sure, not a host of a radio talk show.
I was listening to 99.3 this morning and listening to Skip Carney and DP talking about politics before the 8a.m. hour. I’m reminded of a series on ShowTime called, “Penn & Teller, Bullshit”. Skip made the comment that Obama had raised more “oil” money than Richard Burr, blah, blah, blah.
I won’t bother you with the long explanation, but here’s the short version. Skip was comparing Obama to Burr, which is like comparing apples to oranges: it’s either Obama v. McCain or Burr v. Marshall…but not Obama v. Burr.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times, pay attention to what the talking heads are saying and always take it with a grain of salt: be they Republicans, Democrats, Tea Baggers, or radio personalities. Why? Because voters vote with their heart, not their head. Politicians (and special interest groups) use words to evoke emotion like: limited government, fiscal responsibility, homeland security, etc.
The media gets sucked into this “game” and as much as I like DP personally, there’s not very much lately we agree on. One that sticks in my craw is his obsession with Calvin Woodard not coming on his Morning Show. Frankly, it’s old. Woodard is not going to buckle down to pressure from DP or anyone else to do/or not do anything…especially a damn radio show.
Get over it DP, find somebody else to play in your sandbox. Or don’t, stew over it for the rest of your life, either way, I don’t give a shit. But, I’m tired of turning on 99.3 and hearing you bring it up like it’s a “new and improved” Billy Mays commercial.
Here’s the facts: no one is going to tell Calvin Woodard what to do: not an opponent, not a criminal, not a lawyer representing a criminal and certainly and for damn sure, not a host of a radio talk show.
I’ve interviewed many politicians. Most showed up for the interviews, some canceled at the last minute and a few never returned my calls. Either way, I didn’t take it personally! –Fact of the matter is: most of the politicians that didn’t come on my show were Republicans who thought I was too much of a liberal to give an honest and fair interview. Oh well. I didn’t cry about it because I know it’s the nature of the game. I moved on.
Oh, if you really want to see what’s been going on with ol’ Richard Burr the last year, take a look at the link at the bottom. As Sec. of State Elaine Marshall was campaigning with all her heart and soul, Burr was making steady trips to the bank. Didn’t hear that mentioned this morning, did ya?
