Arizona Senator Jeff Flake: Congress Needs To “Suck Up” TPP and Pass it… — The Last Refuge

Remember the name Tom Donohue, the president of the United States Chamber of Commerce.  He is pushing lawmakers to vote in favor of the last portions of TPP that will be coming down the pike after the elections.  His fear is that if Trump is elected, he will not be able to buy influence.

Sadly, much has been miscommunicated when it comes to TPP.  The President supports it and has rallied many Democrats behind it’s passage.  Is Obama a sellout?  That’s more for you to judge than for me.

However, I will say that it’s never good to deny the American people access to the language in this trade agreement and to some extent members of Congress who have not been shown the whole agreement, but only parts of it.

WikiLeaks has published much of the secret agreement and has made it available on its website.  Had they not published it – I doubt many people would have been aware of how good a deal it is for corporations and how much it hurt average working Americans.

Many who keep up with trade agreements such as TPP, the World Bank and those who follow the World Trade Organization consider TPP many more times harmful than former President Bill Clinton’s NAFTA agreement.

My statements on this isn’t an endorsement of Donald Trump, but I don’t see Hillary as a friend who would work to stifle TPP were she to win the election.   I’ve never heard of a politician come out and say they were against the middle class – but passage of TPP would be a nail in the coffin for working Americans living paycheck to paycheck.

I also do see any advantage in having language denouncing TPP in the DNC platform.  After the convention is anyone really going to pay attention to what the platform really says?  No – I don’t think in past years or in past election cycles the issues raised in either the Republican or Democratic platforms have been much of an influence on a president once they’re elected.

In a January article, Donohue stepped out from behind the curtain and decried the frontrunner of the presidential race.  Donohue stated he was fearful the U.S. CoC would not be able to purchase influence with Donald Trump.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll continue to repeat it, watch how deep and entrenched the financial tentacles of Wall Street Globalists are amid the DC politburo. There is an entire construct of professional political operatives intent on doing the bidding of the Donohue Clan despite the electorate being opposed to it. Arizona Senator Jeff […]
